Sooo.... we didn't want to go through agent and tried our best to apply it ourself. Thanks to internet and Mr. GOOGLE who share everything nowadays. And also we found some helpful blogs, forums, and sites which become our guidance on how to preparing all those documents.
After ROM, we tried to apply the spouse visa or LTSVP. I didn't know before that I have to apply the visa based on your Malaysian spouse IC. If your Malaysian spouse address in KL, then you can apply the visa in KL immigration office which located at Kompleks Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) No. 69, Jalan Sri Hartamas 1, Jalan Duta. It`s near the Publika. My spouse's IC is under Selangor, so we apply the spouse visa in Shah Alam which is located at 2nd Floor, Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam. The office open from 7.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. from Monday till Friday and breaktime at 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Here are documents required : in my case, the applicant is me as a wife and Malaysian spouse is my husband
- 4 photographs (wife) and 2 photographs (husband) - coloured and passport size
- Wedding photographs and Family photographs (3R/4R coloured printed)
- Copy of Marriage Certificate (2 copies)
- Copy of Passport (wife) - current passport used to enter Malaysia (all pages except blank pages)
- Copy of MyKad and Birth Certificate (husband)
And below are the documents that you will get when u ask the form from the immigration officer and must be filled in and some needs to get stamps.
- Maklumat Tambahan dari Istri Asing
- Akuan Suami bagi Menyokong PL(S) Istri
- Surat Akuan Suami (Dicop Pesuruhjaya Sumpah)
- Surat Akuan Suami & Istri (Dicop Pesuruhjaya Sumpah Termasuk pada Gambar)
- Security Bond (Dimatikan Setem Hasil RM10)
Must be very frustating to prepare all those documents right. Moreover when you have no idea at all what are those documents. Okay, easy easy... I will try my best to guide you step by step with explanation and pictures.
So the very first thing I suggest you to do is to get application forms to apply for spouse visa in immigration office (for more info about malaysian immigration click here).
U will get a bunch of forms when you ask for an application form of spouse visa. You can go into the immigration office and ask the officer there where to get application form for apply malaysian spouse visa. I will show you all the pictures of the forms...
If you have completed all the documents required, just go to the immigration office to submit all the documents. Take numbers and wait for your turn. And don't forget to ask for Multiple Entry visa. You have to pay about RM620 for the visa (if I'm not mistaken). So make sure you have enough cash money when you submit the documents.
When my husband and I submitted the documents, we didn't have a pink document of our marriage certificate. So we have to go to JPN Shah Alam and fill in the form to get the pink document of our marriage certificates. I had no idea what kind of document it is but it was not difficult to get one. We just went to JPN Office Shah Alam, fill the form and wait like 10 minutes to get the pink form and then we submit it again to the officer in the Immigration office. The officer was nice that she will take our documents first and she told us to get the pink documents a.s.a.p and get back to her again.
So after submit the documents I waited like a week? or 10 days? to get my passport back with my spouse visa inside.
